Transitioning Into Fall With Our Savannah Stripe Blazer - Just Style LA

As we all know Labor Day usually marks the end of summer and the start of the fall season, at least in our minds. However by Astrological standards, the fall equinox for 2015 is not until Sept 23rd this year. Therefore, we still have a few more weeks of enjoying summer; at least we do here in Los Angeles where, as usual, we are currently having another heat wave this week. Over the last few years it seems we go through this kind of weather pattern on the west coast in September and sometimes even in October. Psychologically we are ready for fall but the weather won’t permit us to fully embrace it. I am hoping to have a proper fall season this year as I can’t wait to dress up for some cooler weather.

I have been very busy over the last few weeks, putting together all of our new fall merchandise that I will be offering for sale on our web site. I have already started putting up a few items this week, but I am so excited about some of my new Jackets and have a lot more I will be listing throughout the whole month of September so get your wardrobes ready! Working on all these fall pieces is making me want to dress for fall even more so I am currently a little impatient for the weather to get cooler. This is probably why I decided to do a transitional look into fall this week even though it is still 95 plus degrees here in Los Angeles all this week.

Over the long weekend, a good friend of my husband’s and his girlfriend visited us here in Los Angeles from Hamburg, Germany on their way across the country to New York. Tim found him on Facebook last year and had not seen him for over thirty years, so it was such a wonderful re-union to see them catch up after all this time. They were staying in Santa Monica right by the beach and Friday night we drove out to meet them for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants called “The Lobster”.

Santa Monica is normally at least 10 degrees cooler than where we live and I usually take a cardigan or a jacket with me especially for night time. So I thought this would be a good opportunity to do a transitional look that can easily go into early fall. We decided to take the pictures before heading to the restaurant as it was such a lovely evening and I knew the weekend would be busy showing them around and catching up and that would not leave much time for a photo shoot! I wore our Savannah blazer, which I think is a perfect blazer to transition into early fall with.

We had a fantastic time at dinner and spent the next couple of days taking them around Los Angeles sightseeing and to our house for a barbecue. They were such a lovely couple and it was nice seeing my husband so happy reliving his childhood memories with a dear friend.

How was your Labor Day weekend and are you ready for fall – What do you think to my transitional look?
