A Fresh And Clean Palette For The Start Of Spring

A Fresh And Clean Palette For The Start Of Spring

I have come to the conclusion that if you are living in Los Angeles, you are better off looking at your calendar rather than outside your window or the thermometer to realize what season you are in and what is the appropriate thing to wear.  As I have mentioned before we completely skipped fall/winter here in Los Angeles this year and now it seems we are skipping spring and are moving right into summer.  Since spring officially started last Friday, I am going to ignore the temperature and just pretend it is beginning of spring and hope that we will have some spring weather before it gets super hot for summer.

For today’s look I wanted to do a fresh and clean palette for the start of spring season which is also a perfect transitional palette.  Tan and black can easily be a fall color palette, so much depends on how you accessorize it and what other type of colors you add to the outfit.  The same outfit with a darker top and scarf combo and some black boots would be perfect for fall.  Just throwing in the white tank top and the white/taupe scarf, and some fabulous sandals makes this outfit spring ready for me.

I know most of us think of scarves for fall, but I love them for spring in lighter and brighter colors.  I will be adding a lot of fun spring scarves to our web site in the next couple of weeks, but I wanted to show you this one quickly as I know many of you, like me, love leopard prints.  This lovely soft scarf is a made from a light weight cotton / rayon blend in a soft taupe and white leopard print.  You can dress it up or down with anything from jeans to white or black skinny pants or even dresses.  The scarf is available on our web site Click Here.

I bought the jacket I am wearing at Zara a few weeks ago, I liked the color and the metal closure and I thought it’s a good basic body that one can wear with many things.  It is still available at Zara, it also comes in red or black and I have included the link below the photos.  I paired it with my favorite skinny Capri pants that I have had for many years but they never go out of style.  Instead of adding any other bright color, I added my gold Hermes belt, gold straw clutch and some gold rings.  I think you can tell by now I love gold!

I love reading all your comments and thoughts every week about my looks and especially any Jacket Society pieces and I truly appreciate each and every comment.

Having said that I what are your thoughts on today’s look and our new spring scarf.

  6. Gorgeous, Nora! I just love this classy colour combination all year round. The jacket looks great with your cropped trousers but I am sure you can wear it in so many different combinations.
A scarf is always a beautiful accessory and this light version just pulls everything nicely together!

We haven’t even ‘smelled’ spring yet… desperately waiting for warmer temperatures in order to wear lighter clothes and enjoy life outside again!

  35. Love your style! And you’re right, those are perfect spring colors. I’m really feeling spring this year and am going to be using neutrals, myself, to celebrate. My best colors are deeper, with a little of the shine off, so I have to be careful when spring fever hits. 🙂

By the way, I followed you here from that great spread over on the Monday Mingle post. Love that Kate Spade outfit. You can see the post I left behind here…
