Black And White Chic In Our Batik Print Poncho

Black And White Chic In Our Batik Print Poncho

Last week was my son’s birthday and I still can’t get over the fact that he is now 20 years old. Even though I miss the days when he was a little boy, I am enjoying this stage of him becoming a young man.

He is working for his fathers company this summer and for the first time I see him showing interest in the business world.  He enjoys seeing how a company is run which is a good thing since he is majoring in business.  It is just great thing to see your kids transitioning into adults and seeing the world in a different perspective.

For his birthday he is having a party this weekend for his friends, but on the actual day, July 7th, we took him and his girlfriend out to his favorite sushi restaurant. We all had a great time and then came back to our house after for cake.

I thought this would be a good occasion for me to style our brand new Batik black and white print poncho.  The Batik poncho is such a multi functional piece.  You can wear it casually with shorts and sandals or even as a cover up for the pool or you can dress it up like I have done today.

It is a very soft, lightweight fabric that is such a easy piece to throw on over a dress especially for a night out.  It has a beautiful batik inspired print with black tassels all around which make is so much more fun. I chose to wear it with my LBD so I could show you a few different ways to style this poncho.

As you can see in the photos below.

  1. Wearing it loose over the dress
  2. Pulling one side up over your shoulder as you would do with a shawl
  3. Wearing it belted

I am sure there are a few more ways it can be styled as well.  As far as accessories I chose two different pieces for each look.  For the loose look I added our gunmetal chain with ivory marbleized stone necklace.  For the belted look I thought the necklace didn’t work as well so I switched to our Black chandelier earrings which I think works perfectly with the Batik print.  To finish off the look, I wore my lace up sandals and for a pop of color I added my red bag.

All three pieces are part of our Weekend Flash Sale where you can get 15% off with code FS79 plus Free US shipping. Limited quantities so do not wait. Sale ends Sunday at midnight.
