My Date Night Look Wearing Our Black Peasant Blouse
My Date Night Look Wearing Our Black Peasant Blouse
My husband and I always try to have a “date night” a couple of times a month. We usually go out to dinner at least once on the weekend but not all of them are what I would call a “date night” where you actually dress up and go somewhere special where you can really spend one on one time together. Some of them are more casual outings to eat or shop and catch a movie. I think we all need a good balance of both.
For those special “date nights” here are some pointers you can use to look stylish yet sexy and fun:
- Wear heels or sexy shoes
- Try a fun, chunky jewelry piece that you normally wouldn’t wear during the day
- Show some skin but stay classy (if you are showing a lot of leg, be more covered on top and if you are showing cleavage and bare shoulder then be more covered in the bottom, balance is everything.)
- Define your waist by wearing something shaped or belted, it does not have to be tight fitting.
- Wear a clutch instead of a handbag
- Put on a little more make up than usual, brighter lips or nail polish
Today I am sharing with you one of my recent “date night” looks. Typically, a lot of us think of dresses or skirts for a date night and there is nothing wrong with that. I love wearing dresses as well, especially for spring/summer dates. For this recent date night, I chose to wear shorts, because I think they can be a good substitute for a skirt for spring and summer. With shorts, you can still show your legs especially if you wear them with heels to give the whole look a sexy vibe.
I chose to wore our Black Peasant Top which I first styled for you here, with one of my favorite slim black shorts. The Black Peasant top is a perfect top for a night out because is it sexy but not over the top sexy. The lace back shows just enough skin without it being too bare. With my all black look here, it was the best opportunity to wear my favorite new Dolce Vita lace up sandals that I bought recently from Bloomingdales. Lace up shoes are a big trend for this spring and summer and I was pleasantly surprised as how comfortable these are. To finish off the look, I added some gold accents, like my belt and clutch and one of our brand new statement necklace and earring sets that I love. This bib necklace has dangling beads in black and gray and it is such a fun piece and it comes with matching dangling bead earrings. I finished off the look with a few of our new bracelets mixed together.

Nora, I love your date night look. I am waiting to wear the peasant blouse once the weather gets warmer. It is so pretty I don’t want the back covered with a coat or wrap! And, your right, it has just the right amount of “sexiness” to it.

Hi Kathleen,
I can’t wait to see how you style your peasant blouse. Thank you so much for stopping by.

A fun outfit. And indeed sexy enough for a date night. And modern. Well styled. At first when I read “shorts” I thought “Shorts? Shorts? What is she talking about?” LOL

Hi Greetje
Haha, thank you so much! I know the shorts are on the long side more like a long Bermuda short.-
No, I meant, I thought I was seeing long trousers as the first picture is above the knee and I was READING shorts before I SAW them in the second picture haha

It’s fun to dress up for ourselves, and our husbands. I’m sure your hubby is always thrilled to have such a fashionably dressed wife on his arms. You pulled off sexy cool without a hitch. OMG…those sandals. Yes please!

Nora, this is such a fun look for a date night. I like the longer shorts. I don’t wear shorts at this point due to some very bad vein issues, but this outfit would look just as fashionable and chic with black skinnies. Love the sandals. Your outfits are always stylin’. Thanks for sharing. – Amy
