Different Shades Of Green For Spring

Different Shades Of Green For Spring

Back in February, I did a style feature about Spring 2017 trending colors with the main color being “Greenery” which Pantone is calling their color of the year.  There is also another shade of green in that group called “Kale” so greens are making a big come back this season. You can see that blog story here.

Green has been one of my favorite colors for a long time and I used to wear a lot more of it.  When I heard that greens were making a come back, I realized that I haven’t worn the color in a long time.  I think one of the main reasons is that you don’t see a lot of green items in stores.  We often see colors like blues and pinks that are much easier to wear, but I think stores try to stock more of these colors and less of the riskier colors like greens and yellows.  I know this from years of working in the fashion industry and that is what I always heard from buyers at market.

I agree that greens are more difficult to wear for all skin tones.  However, you have to remember that there are so many different shades of green that every woman is bound to find a shade that looks good on them.  Depending on your skin tone, you can go for greens with more yellow undertones or greens with more blue undertones.  I am working on having more items in different shades of green in our store for the future as well and I would love to hear your feed back about the color in our comments.

Today I am debuting this beautiful Jade Top with Scalloped Sleeves which is a very pretty shade of green.  It is made out of a soft double layered fabric in a loose body with a fun scallop detail on the sleeves.  I also have the perfect necklace to go with this top as it is almost the same color but a little darker in shade.

I am also showing you two brand new Kimono style jackets today which are made from a rayon crepe in a soft and easy body.  They both have beautiful and intricate embroidery work on the sleeves and the bottom part of the jacket.  It is a floral embroidery design in pretty colors like red, pink, green and blue which makes them so easy to wear with many pop colors.  I chose to style them with the Jade top as I wanted to do a color that is currently trending for spring.

All four pieces I am showing you today are part of our 24-HR Flash Sale where you can get 15% off with code FS328 plus Free US Shipping.

  6. I love that rose kimono in both colors. Is it embroidered, Nora? I think with the cute moss green top, I prefer the white kimono over it. =)
