I Love Cargo Jackets For Spring Summer

I Love Cargo Jackets For Spring Summer

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. After a couple of weeks of having fall like weather in Los Angeles, we finally got back to our normal 90-degree temperatures here over this last weekend. I was getting ready to meet a friend for lunch last Friday and it was still a bit overcast and cloudy, so I thought it was a perfect chance to wear my favorite Cargo/Utility jacket that I have had for many years which never goes out of style. I purchased this “Comptoir Des Cotonniers” cargo jacket a few years ago when we were in London visiting my husband’s family. It is a French brand that has stores in many major European cities and I believe they do have one in Soho in NYC, but unfortunately none in Los Angeles area.

As soon as I saw it, I really liked the color and the design details and I knew I would get a lot of use out of it especially in Los Angeles. It is a 100% cotton khaki color fabric, which is the perfect casual jacket to throw on when there is a little chill in the air or it’s a bit windy. Even though you can wear it with many colors like black or denim, I personally love mixing it with white. This is why I chose to wear it with my distressed white jean skirt from Zara, which I bought last summer. This was also a great chance for me to wear my brand new Sam Edelman wedges which are currently on sale (you can find the link below).  When it came to accessorizing it, many colors came to my mind that would work like yellow or orange but again my favorite was turquoise. I love mixing white/tan/turquoise together especially for spring/summer. I added our brand new turquoise stone necklace that has a tan leather fringe and our beautiful leopard scarf in a white/turquoise combo, both of which are perfect accessories for spring/summer. You can find the necklace here and the scarf here.

Before I sign off for today,  I wanted to say that I am super excited to be going to New York City this Friday with my son for a fun filled summer trip. The Last time I went was over two years ago during summer to look at colleges with him and we had a blast. When I asked him recently if he wanted to have a short trip with me to NYC this summer, I was pleasantly surprised to get a “sure” right away. We both love NYC, the energy, the sites, the food, and of course the shopping. I also have a niece that lives in Astoria so it would be nice to see her as well. I will post pictures daily on my Instagram Page and Facebook Page, so if you are not following me please do so to see what we are up to. I will not have my normally scheduled blog story next Tuesday since we will still be in NYC, but I will have a blog story about the trip by next Thursday.

I wish you all a great week and don’t forget to let me know what you think of my outfit.

  1. I love this fabulous cargo jacket!! It looks great with white! My daughter and I are headed to NYC too! She has been accepted into the Rockette Summer Institute and I am her chaperone! It will be our first trip so we are very excited!! Perhaps I will run into you this weekend! If you have any suggestions for shopping I would love to hear them! Have fun! SUsan

    • Hi Susan,
Wow how fun!! maybe we will run inot each other 🙂 There are so many great shopping areas in NYC…definetly go to Soho and Meat packing district. Of course the Bloomingdales on Lexington is fab also, not to mention Barneys and Bergdorfs even though they are very expensive, but fun to walk around. Hope you have a great time!

  2. I adore the spirit of this look. The white is great against dark skin, and of course the turquoise is always a great addition. Love the shape and color of the jacket.

New York with your son sounds incredible. I look forward to your instapics.

  3. I love your outfit. It’s so refreshing to look at. Cute scarf too 🙂

  4. This looks amazing and I can see why you bought it in Europe and knew you’d get a lot of wear out of it. The quality looks so nice and I like that for a cargo jacket it’s a bit shorter instead of the trench style. You look great and the touches are turquoise are so pretty – hope you have a nice time in NYC with your son.

  5. Good morning Nora. Look forward each week to view your page. Always inspiring. My husband and I are visiting USA in Sept. Trip will include New Orleans(I am a great jazz and blues fan) Boston, North Carolina ( to visit friends) and New York City. My first trip to the states, my husband has been before. Terribly excited about shopping in NYC. I have been advised to take very little with me and return with bags bulging. Can’t wait. Loving my Brooklyn jacket. Looking forward to your next range. Cheers Ethne

    • Hi Ethne,
So nice to hear from you and I am so glad you are enjoying reading the blog! Your trip sounds wonderful and yes shopping in NYC is lots of fun and you need a good budget! I am so happy you like the Brooklyn jacket, I’m not sure if you have noticed that the Sonoma and Savannah jackets are the same body as the Brookly but for spring. I will have lots of new jackets for fall as well. Hope to see you back!

  6. You look amazing and I love the outfit! That necklace is stunning! Have fun in New York and I look forward to following your adventures on IG!

  7. First, love seeing the pictures of you and your (tall!!!) son in NYC! Hope you are having a great time. Second, I don’t know if it’s your coloring or what but you just look amazing in neutrals like this. I love the way you styled the white on white with the khaki jacket and turquoise accents. PERFECT!

    • Hi Gina,
Thank you so much, I know my son looks like a giant next to me especially when I am in flats 🙂 The colors I am wearing are some of my favorite color combos, maybe subconsciousely I know they look good on my skin, thanks for stopping by!

  8. I’m a fan of this look! I love jackets even in summer and living in a city where its hot outside and super chilly (artificial of course) indoor makes jackets a must. This is a great option for summer.. love it!
