My Favorite Looks From Milan Fashion Week Fall 2015 - Just Style LA

Milan is always about mixing beautiful tailoring and workmanship with ultra feminine, romantic and sexy looks. The designers really know how to mix just the right amount of masculine and feminine to get the formula right. Personally I have always loved this concept and every season I look forward to seeing all the innovative looks from amazing Italian designers.

This season was not any different and there are many beautiful looks to get inspired by. But before I get into the top trends and looks I personally spotted, I have to mention the highlight of the Milan fashion week for me and many others was the Dolce & Gabbana show. Not so much for their innovative looks but for the show’s concept. You see their entire show was about honoring mothers, complete with models on the runways with their kids and even some pregnant models. What a wonderful way to celebrate women and mothers. I absolutely loved this concept and applaud them for it. Ben Fatto!

Here are the main trends that I picked up on in regards to jackets and outerwear.

  1. All tied up with belts and ties
  2. Suits are back
  3. More 70’s looks
  4. Fur, especially in colors
  5. Tweeds
  6. Menswear
  7. Fringe
  8. Embellishment and embroidery
  9. Leather
  10. Long coats
  11. Brocades and patterns
  12. Metallic fabrics
  13. Capes

There are some great trends here to pick and choose from. My favorites being the tweeds and menswear, but I also loved the brocades and patterned fabrics for women's jackets and coats. I also loved all the beautiful rose embroidery and embellishment from Dolce & Gabbana which was refreshing and different but very Italian and true to their look.

Of course the 70’s look came across loud and clear in Milan just like all the other fashion shows, but I really loved how the designers in the Milan shows really modernized the look and made it their own.

Below you can see my favorite looks and I as usual I love to hear from all of you with your wonderful comments.
