Playing With Some Asymmetrical Shapes

Playing With Some Asymmetrical Shapes

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day last Sunday.  As I mentioned last week, my son was going through his finals this week so we couldn’t celebrate on Sunday. However, he and my husband surprised me with a nice dinner on Tuesday at Faith and Flower, which is a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles that I had been wanting to try for a while.  We decided to head out a little earlier than our reservation so we could do a blog shoot in the art district before going over to the restaurant and I managed to convince my son to take a few photos with me which you can see below.  The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and the décor is really well thought out. The food was delicious but our service was really slow considering it was a weekday.

As for my outfit, I was super excited to wear two of our brand new pieces that we have just added to our store.  This black and white paisley trapeze handkerchief hem tunic could be construed as a dress.  As a matter of fact, it can be worn as a dress but the front is a little short for me so I chose to wear it as a tunic with leggings under it.  It is made out of four big scarves attached together to give it the handkerchief hem look.  Each pattern is an interesting paisley print in black and white.  I tried to pull the dress open so you can see the design.  You can see even better pictures of it on our shop section where I clearly show the shape.  I wore a black camisole and leggings underneath, but you can easily wear it without a camisole with a short skirt, shorts, jeans or on its own.

I also added our brand new black faux leather vest on top.  With both pieces having asymmetrical hems the two compliment each other really well.  The vest does have a spaghetti tie belt which I chose to tie in the back for this look.  However, the vest is very versatile and you can wear it with so many other pieces and it looks great belted as well.  You can see more photos of the vest and belted version of it too on our shop. I finished off the look with our beautiful Gunmetal chain necklace with marbleized stone and fringe, black stone bracelets, black sandals and black bag.

The following items are all part of our Weekend Flash Sale where you can save 15% with using code FS514 plus Free USA shipping. Sale will end Sunday night at midnight.

Love that handkerchief dress – I have been meaning to add a similar one to my closet, this Spring. The vest is so cool and with it on top of the dress and those shoes, I love the edgy rocker look you achieved. Your handsome son looks great too. I bet you had a fabulous after Mother’s day celebration! What kind of food did they serve at the restaurant?

      Hi Ada,
They are calling it a California rustic cuisine, but they have everything from raw oysters to fish and pasta. Small plates that your order together and share at the table. Delicious food…my belated mother’s day was great and thank you for stopping by.
