Take A Look At Our New Spring Jacquard Joy Jacket

I have just finished production on some of my new spring / summer jackets that I designed recently and I will be showing them to you all in upcoming blog stories.

Today, I want to introduce one of my favorites so far called the Joy Jacquard jacket. This beautiful, lightweight floral jacquard is the perfect jacket for spring and cool summer evenings and as you can see it looks great with jeans, but it will work with variety of other bottoms as well, which I will show you in another story.

In order to debut this pretty, feminine womens jacket, I wanted to photograph it somewhere unique and special that felt right to show off the stunning jacquard fabric it is made from. I have wanted to do a photo shoot at the Brand Library and Art Center near my home for a while because it has striking buildings with many unique features and nice surrounding grounds. It is located in Brand Park, high in foothills of Glendale, California.

The Brand Library is an art and music center with a seperate art gallery where different art shows and displays are exhibited throughout the year. The library is housed in a mansion that was built in 1904 by Leslie C Brand and it was named El Miradero (the Overlook). The architecture is a combination of Spanish, Moorish and Indian style and Nathaniel Dryden who was the brother in law of Brand designed it. The art gallery and recital hall were added later in 1969. It was closed recently for two years for an extensive $10 million renovation that was completed in 2014 and they did a fantastic job.

The Library also holds a special place in my heart because years ago when my son was 3 or4 years old, I used to take him here there for kids “mommy and me” art classes. I am not sure if those classes are still offered as it was such a long time ago, but I have very fond memories of painting with him in the library and playing in the park afterwards. This is another reason why I wanted to share this incredible building and grounds with you.

I have styled my Joy jacket with my wide leg jeans and even though the first color that comes to mind for a top to wear with this jacket is white, cream or off white (which will work perfectly with it), I wanted to do a brighter color. I love this yellow peasant top that I have had for a while and since yellow is such a trendy color for this spring, I thought it would look perfect for this outfit.

I have added one of our beautiful necklaces as well to finish off the look. Its a Y necklace with clustered beads and a pendant.  The jacket is available for sale on our website in XS, SM, M, LG here and the necklace is also available here.

Before we get to the pictures, don’t forget to take advantage of our fabulous mother’s day sale right now where you get 20% off your total order when you spend $100.00 or more and that includes this new Joy jacquard jacket.

  1. The new jacquard jacket is gorgeous and it looks great with yellow. Love the top and blazer. Nice seeing someone else wearing flare jeans today, also. =)

  2. Nora you look incredible. The up close shot of the jacket detail is so beautiful. I see why you selected this local for your shoot. Not just for the precious memories, but for the way your jacket and the architecture are succinct to each other.

  3. I’m excited to see all of your new pieces! This new jacket is lovely. Blue and yellow is my favorite color combo so I was really drawn to it! Loved the story about art classes with your son – I used to do mommy and me music classes with my boys at the library, and every time I drive by I think of it. Have a great weekend!

  4. I think this is one of my favorite jackets of yours! I just love it and it looks great with yellow… there is something about grey and yellow I love. Another gorgeous necklace, too. And, I love places that I can visit that give me special memories from when my kids weren’t in school. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I am so glad you styled this beautiful jacket with yellow! It’s a lovely color combination. Such a fabulous look with your flared jeans and touches of cognac!

  6. I like the cut of the jacket, especially the collar. The soft color goes well with the yellow top. Thanks for linking up at Who’s Wearing What Wednesdays at Pastries, Pumps and Pi!
