Transitioning Into Fall With Our Pollock Jacket

Transitioning Into Fall With Our Pollock Jacket

The weather has finally gotten a little cooler in Los Angeles, by cooler I mean its been in 60’s and 70’s this week instead of 80’s and 90’s which is great news for us and hopefully that means fall has finally arrived.  Living in a Los Angeles with the type of weather we experience here year round, we are very used to what I call “transitional dressing” year round.  Personally I have given up on putting summer clothes away and bringing fall ones out, as I keep everything in the same closet year round.  Some pieces get more use during fall and some during summer.  I know for most of the country, this is not true and you really do need a full closet change for each season.  However, there are a lot of spring/summer pieces that can be taken into fall especially early part of fall.  All you have to do is style it more appropriately for fall.

Last weekend my husband really wanted to see the movie “Bridge of Spies” which is the new Steven Spielberg movie starring Tom Hanks, so we decided to have a dinner and movie date night.  Unfortunately, we were both disappointed in the movie, even though it is getting great reviews, we both thought it was very average, but we managed to have a nice night out regardless.

I decided to wear our Pollock jacket, which was one of our spring jackets, but this time I have styled it with a transitional fall look.  The first time I styled it for spring and you can see that look here. The Pollock jacket is a light weight printed fabric but the colors of the print itself can easily go into fall since they consist of navy, blue, red and coral with some white.  Once you decide to wear it with navy or black the look changes automatically.  I wanted to show you how easy it is to take the same jacket and make it work for a transitional look into fall by just adding a few fall elements.  That is exactly what I did here by wearing it with my dark denim jeans, black booties, black belt and bag and adding a scarf.  I also wanted to mention that the Pollock jacket is so soft that it can be worn as a cardigan so you can easily wear a coat over it.

You can purchase our Pollock jacket here and the scarf I am wearing with it here.  What are your thoughts on transitional dressing and do you wear any of your spring pieces into fall?

I love that jacket, the fabric and colors! I swear I kinda wish I could own each one. Love the scarf added, it makes for most of my summer jackets to be worn in the fall. Great styling!
