Updating A Simple Black Dress With Our Lemon Drop Jacket
Updating A Simple Black Dress With Our Lemon Drop Jacket
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.Β We were busy working on lots of orders that came through during the weekend for our Motherβs Day Sale.Β Thank you to everyone that placed orders with us and just a reminder that the sale is still going on and will end on May 8th at midnight.Β If you are looking for a special Motherβs Day gift, we have lots of options to choose from including jewelry, scarves and of course jackets, ponchos, wraps and tops.Β We have a priority 2-3 day free shipping so if you order today or tomorrow you can still get the package before Motherβs Day.
Simply use code MDAY16 and save 15% on any item in the store.
I own a few different black dresses but this one is a simple spaghetti strap soft dress that I go back to quite often. We actually have quite a few jackets that would work over this dress, but I chose the Lemon drop jacket because of the pale yellow color which I am currently loving and is one of springβs Pantone colors for 2016 called βbuttercup yellowβ.Β I think it is such a pretty, fresh and feminine color and I love the contrast of this pale color with the black.Β It is always a good substitute for white or ivory and the Lemon drop jacket is a super soft and easy jacket to wear with almost anything.Β I have styled it two other times on the blog and you can see those here and here.Β It is also a really versatile jacket that is light weight and easy to travel with.
I wanted to add a few different accessories for you to see different options in how you can style this look.Β I added one of our beautiful necklaces that is really simple and has just the right amount of shine with its iridescent beads in gray and black to make the black dress pop.Β I also added one of our brand new black and white print square shawls with black tassels.Β I wanted to show you how you can wear it as a scarf with the jacket over the dress and later take the jacket off and use it as shawl when you go out for dinner. I also added a stack of our black bead bracelets to go along with my watch.Β I love mixing lots of bracelets with my watch, but you can also wear them on their own.Β I finished off the look with my brand new lace sandals that I have been wearing non stop since I bought them a couple of weeks ago.
All the Jacket Society pieces I am wearing today are part of our Mother’s Day Sale. Use code MDAY16 to get 15% off plus free US Shipping. Β Sale ends May 8th at midnight.

You styled this simple midi LBD beautifully. I love the Lemon draped jacket and scarf with it. The necklace and shoes are so pretty. I styled very similar camel sandals with a dress, on my blog yesterday, you should come take a peek. Straight A fashionista as usual

I just watched a Rachel Zoe video where someone asked how to wear black in the summer. What did Rachel suggest? Exactly what you demonstrated with your looks. You managed to make black look fresh and inviting for a summer day. You look like you should be strolling around the Getty Center – just you, your adorable outfit, and your hubby.
Here’s the video. You might enjoy it –-

Yellow is one of my favorite colors, especially a pale yellow like in this jacket! It looks great against the black dress… I have so many LBD and always looking for ideas for them. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day, hope you’re spending it with that handsome son of yours!!

Hi Nora
I love this shade of yellow in this gorgeous blazer. A cream buttery yellow is about the only yellow I can wear. It looks wonderful on you . Love the block heel gladiators, and what a great staple the black sundress. The scarf and the grey against the yellow looks so pretty on you.
thanks for linking up with Turning heads tuesday!
