Wearing The Soleil Jacket For Mothers Day Dinner

Wearing The Soleil Jacket For Mothers Day Dinner

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I had a very busy weekend because I had a trunk show at a beautiful Mother’s Day luncheon on Saturday in Studio City where I got to display and sell my jackets, jewelry and scarves. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun at the same time, I am going to post all the details and pictures about it on Friday.

Today I am going to tell you how I spent my Mother’s Day with my husband and son. In the past they have always planned a wonderful lunch or brunch by the beach for me. Unfortunately this years plans were a little different because my son is in the middle of his final exams at USC and it was going to be too difficult to plan a full day outing. So this years plan was to go for a nice dinner locally, after spending the day at home working on his studies, this would give him a break, but not take too much out of his day.

It actually all worked out perfectly as I spent the day relaxing from being on my feet all day at Saturday’s trunk show. So around 4:30 my husband Tim and I headed out to Pasadena to take pictures for the blog before meeting Stefen around 5:30 for dinner at Smitty’s Grill, which is a very nice steak and seafood restaurant in Pasadena.

During the last few weeks, the weather in Los Angeles has been quite a bit cooler and we even had some rain last week, which is strange for us in May, especially when we have not had a fall or winter season at all this year. Anyway Mothers day ended up being a beautiful sunny day with perfect temperatures, so I decided to wear one of my favorite wrap dresses that I have had for a long time.

It is an elegant printed dress made from georgette and I really wanted to wear something feminine for Mother’s Day. It also just so happened that our Soleil jacket, which is a beautiful gold color, picked up the gold part of the print in this dress perfectly, so it was a no brainer to include the jacket. The Soleil jacket was a big hit on my Saturday Mother’s Day trunk show and I only have a few pieces left before we are sold out. It is on sale right now on our web site here.

I added my favorite vintage Moroccan necklace and my go to gladiator sandals to make the whole look more modern and current.

We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Mother’s Day.

How was your Mother’s Day and don’t’ forget to let me know your thoughts on my look?

  1. The photo of you and your son is too cute! Def. a good looking man! I am a lover of all things gold and with gold being so popular right now, I can see how you’ve sold a lot of them! Love everything about your Mother’s Day outfit and of course the jewelry is on point once again.

  2. Such a handsome son you have. Sounds like a great Mother’s Day. I was worried about our weather. Nice how the sun shined just for us moms. Isn’t it? Did you do any shopping in Old Town while in Pasadena? We ventured into Anaheim for an early dinner.

Love this outfit. The sweetness of the dress looks great with the tough shoes and international necklace. And of course, the jacket is superb. I adore the metallic fabric.

    • Hi Glenda,
Unfortunately there was not too much time for shopping but I venture out to Pasadena to shop all the time. Thank you so much for your lovely comment and I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day as well 🙂

  3. What a super weekend for you! Ours was fab as well, although it would have been even better with the kids & grands-spent the day feasting, sunning and strolling in Barcelona before continuing on to Music and Markets Prague Spring Festival tour.

  4. Nora, I haven’t met a jacket of yours I didn’t like! Love the flow of this and with the gorgeous dress you look amazing as always. I love those dark brown sandals ever since I saw them on you. Sounds like a great Mothers Day, and love the pics of your son and hubby!
