Why Denim Is Such A Classic - Just Style LA

Why Denim Is Such A Classic

I think its a pretty safe bet that there is something that we all own and that’s a pair of denim pants, better known as jeans. Made from denim or dungaree cloth, they were invented by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss in 1873. Back then they were used in a different context but today they have become everyone’s uniform of choice on daily basis, except for the office. So, it is safe to say denim, done in jeans, jackets or dresses, has become a classic.

As you know I style a lot of our jackets and tops with denim jeans on regular basis and the main reason for this is because this is how I dress on daily basis. Jeans are part of my everyday uniform and I am sure this is true for a lot of women.

Today I have couple of looks that I have styled with one of my favorite denim jeans, but I have also added another super cute look with our denim dress.

Starting with my denim jeans as my base, I added our Heather Tan Flounce Sleeve Knit Top, which is currently one of my favorite go-to tops. It is made out of a nice soft heather tan rayon knit fabric. It is a not-so-basic t-shirt top, because of its fun flounce detail over the sleeves. The body is quite long so be sure to check it out in our shop photos as I have tucked in the front here in today’s style shoot.

Because it’s summer I wanted to add a lightweight jacket – something that is fashionable enough to make a statement. So I chose our Geometric Print Kimono with Fringe which is currently a best seller and actually on SALE. This kimono works perfectly with denim because of its color combo. The body is loose with a thin self-belt that you can tie in the back or in the front cinching in the waist. You can of course also take it off entirely if you wish. The sleeves are traditional kimono style sleeves and the body is finished with a fun fringe detail in the bottom.

For a second look, as I mentioned earlier, I chose our Embroidered Denim A Line Dress. This dress is a great “throw on and walk out of the door piece” especially for summer. Made out of a soft lightweight denim fabric the body is loose but with an A Line shape. The front has a pretty self-colored embroidery detail. The best part of the dress is the side in-seam pockets. I love dresses with pockets which are not that common.

For accessories, I have a few options for you today with this look. The first one is our Tan Fabric Clutch with Beaded Applique, which is a beautiful piece. It has a removable thin gold tone chain so you can wear it over your shoulder or as a clutch.

For jewelry, I used our Blue Gray Bead and Shell Necklace with Fringe and Matt Gold and Silver Teardrop Shape Bracelet.

All 6 pieces I am showing you today are part of our 24-HR Flash Sale where you can get 15% OFF each item featured today – Apply code FS628 at checkout – plus Free Priority US Shipping. All international shipments are a flat rate of $25.00
