The Wide Leg Trouser Styled With Our Mondrian Jacket
The Wide Leg Trouser Styled With Our Mondrian Jacket
One of the big trends to come out of the spring collections for this year has been the wide-leg trouser. Whether it’s high waisted, low slung, solid or printed, it looks sophisticated with a relaxed ease of a pajama pant. They can be intimidating for a lot of women to wear and you may think you can’t pull them off, but there are some tricks you can use to be able to wear this trend and not worry about looking frumpy.
This is why I wanted to style our Mondrian jacket with one of my wide leg trousers for you and give you a few pointers as to how you can wear this look.
- Proportion is key, so make sure you wear them with a shorter jacket that is fitted or has some shape
- Unless you are very tall, always wear them with heels
- Tuck in your top or blouse at least in the front to show some your waist
- If you choose to wear a top or sweater and leave it out, make sure it is shaped and not over-sized.
- If you are hesitant to try them, start out with black or a neutral color bottoms which are easier to pull off
Our Mondrian jacket is a perfect piece to wear with this kind of a pant, because it is the right shape and is shorter in length plus it is so soft and fluid. I have styled the Mondrian jacket for you two other times, you can see those looks here and here. As far as the wide leg pant, I have had this Arden B pant for a long time and I always pull it out when wider leg pants are trending. With this black and ivory neutral look, I decided to add a few accessories from our Jacket Society line. The necklace and earring set is a brand new piece we just added to the site. I specifically chose this piece for all of my customers who always ask me about silver necklaces. The silver is a great combination with the black stone and tassels.
I also added a few of our black bead bracelets with hematite pave that I introduced to you for the first time a couple of weeks ago because they work perfectly with this necklace and earring set.
Last but not least I added a few looks with one of my favorite scarf/shawls which is in a black/taupe/ivory geometric pattern and has black tassels all around. We have had this scarf for a while and are almost sold out of them. As a matter of fact as of writing this we only have one left, so if you like this scarf /shawl – now is your chance to grab the last one before its gone. ( it is also available in Navy/Taupe/Ivory – If The black sells out)

Hi Melody,
Thank you so much!

Beautiful outfit, both ways. The jacket is very sleek, but I love the look of the scarf, both as a shawl and a scarf. The white tee gives it a casual, but chic vibe. Great look. Thanks for sharing. – Amy-

Hi Andrea,
Thank you, yes it is a little different look as I do not wear wider leg pants as much but that is why I wanted to do a post about it.

Such a pretty outfit, those wide leg trousers look great on you. I always get nervous about wide legged pants on myself, but I should try some out. That scarf with the little tassels is adorable, too! I have gotten the floral kimono out again that I purchased from your shop last Spring and you’ll see it next Thursday in my post! I just love it!

These trousers look stunning on you! Personally with short legs wide trousers are hard for me to pull off, but sometimes the right pair comes along and I love it!

Hi Alice,
You are right, they are not easy to wear. I am 5’4″ and I can only wear them with heels. Hope you find one that works for your body type. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I love how you diversified your palazzo. I remember palazzos coming back in style like 10-12 years ago and then they went away but it looks like they are back in full force and looking great! I love how you styled them 🙂
