Women’s Sleeveless Jackets And Coats Fall 2014 Trend Alert

Women’s Sleeveless Jackets And Coats Fall 2014 Trend Alert

Ever since I started my blog, a little over a year ago, I have shown a few different looks with sleeveless jackets or vests. ย I have always been able to find one or two per season that I have loved wearing and I keep on looking for new unique finds every year in stores but unfortunately I always seem to be unable to locate the ones that I really like.

Well this year I am thrilled to say that finally there are a few women’s sleeveless jackets and coats that I really think are wonderful and they are available in stores now for fall 2014, so I wanted to share them with you all.ย  The reason behind this is obviously the fact that they are a big trend for fall 2014 and many designers showed them on the runways back in February.

This menswear inspired fall outerwear trend offers some great pieces to add to your wardrobe for the fall transition. ย They are polished enough for a meeting at the office yet cool enough to wear out to dinner or cocktails. ย The good news is they were seen on a lot of spring 2015 runway shows as well.ย  So naturally if you invest in buying one now, you can wear it for fall and on to spring 2015 .

Here are some examples of how I like ย to wear them:

  1. In early fall wear them over short sleeve or sleeveless tops or dresses.
  2. When it gets colder wear long sleeve tops or sweaters under them.
  3. Finally when its really cold you can add another coat on top of them.

Below you can see my favorites from the runways earlier this year and ย I have picked some for you that are currently available in stores or on line.

Let me know your thoughts on sleeveless jackets and coats, will you be wearing them for fall?

I love this look! It is functional and stylish and really great for petites as it elongates your body! Also, sometimes sleeves can be overkill even here in cold Boston, especially if you are active or drive a lot….My favorite is the Roland Mouret outfit with the slouchy belt!

It took me awhile to warm up to the idea of sleeveless coats, but now I love them. They’re so versatile and can be styled so many different ways. ๐Ÿ™‚

I really like this look – always have. It hasn’t shown up much (if at all ) at retail where I am (mid-sized Canadian city) other than the Club Monaco one but I’m hoping it makes a stronger showing for Spring 2015 . Love the Nasty Gal lime one for a good inexpensive entry to the trend!

      Hi Lisa,
I know what you mean, it takes a long time for some trends to become more mainstream and show up everywhere, I think they will become more popular by spring for sure.
Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting.

You know I bought a sleeveless jacket/vest thing a few year’s back with Victoria Beckham started the trend and I’ll be honest. …. I’ve only worn it once! I’m having such a hard time styling it for the weather. I always feel like it tis too cold or too warm. This was a great collection for this year’s shows and you’ve given me all kinds of inspiration!!

Thank you for joining the #reasonstodress linkup if you have time I’d love to have you back tomorrow!
