Holiday Party Looks That Are Not Too Dressy
Holiday Party Looks That Are Not Too Dressy
Itโs the time of the year for holiday parties, family and friend get together’s and of course the office parties. With all that excitement comes the constant question โwhat should I wearโ?
Today I have a couple of looks that you can wear to any kind of holiday party except for the real formal ones. The looks I am showing you today are chic and stylish yet not too dressy. In my opinion sometimes these looks are harder to figure out that the real dressy ones.
So here are some tips to keep in mind for these kind of party looks:
- Use black as your base color and accent with a bright or metallic color.
- Wear a dress or skirt.
- Choose pieces with metallic accents, beads or sequins.
- Wear statement jewelry.
- Add sexy high heels.
- Use more dramatic makeup like red lips or smoky eyes.
I have applied some of these tips for my look today.
I have started out with my black slim skirt and our new Black V Neck Long Sleeve Top, which we have just added to the shop. This all black look which I call the base to my outfit can also be achieved with a black dress. If you really donโt like dresses or skirts, pants would work as well.
For outerwear I am showing you two options. The first one is our Camel Faux Suede Cascading Collar Jacket, which I first styled for you here. This faux suede jacket can be worn casually with jeans and looks great but I wanted to show you all how it can also work with a dressier look. I find this a great all around versatile piece to have in your wardrobe, something that you can wear for many occasions.
For today’s accessories, you can use any kind of statement jewelry piece, so a necklace would work just as well. However, for todayโs look, I chose our Gold Tone Chandelier Earrings with Rhinestone. These earrings are a beautiful piece especially for a special event or occasion.
For a second outerwear piece today, I have chosen a more โholiday-themedโ piece which is another brand new item in our store. Our Black and Gold Lurex Knit Poncho Cardigan is simply wonderful to throw over any basic outfit and automatically it will take it up a notch. It is made out of a soft black/gold knit fabric. It has a self-belt that you can wear tied up or leave it open and I have shown you both looks below.
To finish off these looks, I wore my high-heeled open toe booties and a small cross body bag with a gold chain. All four pieces I am wearing are part of our Christmas Holiday Sale which is ongoing in our store and below you can see the details for the sale.

A little black dress is such a great wardrobe classic. I just love the way you styled it in all the ways and how easy it could glammed up as well!

Those booties are pretty and I love the peep toe! I initially thought is was a black dress, and read that it is two pieces. I love a black column look or base, and every addition looks lovely! My fav may be the camel jacket over it. Always beautiful!
