Last week I wrote about one of spring 2015โs biggest trends, military style. In that story, Iย showed you some of my favorite spring fashion runway military looks and some pieces I liked that are already in stores and I can’t wait to add some of them to my wardrobe for this spring.
So for this weeks outfit I really wanted to do a military inspired look, but because I haven’t purchased any new military inspired pieces yet, I decided to pull this Zara military jacket out of my closet that I have had for a couple of years. This is another one of my favorite jackets that I have worn many times throughout the years. In order to update it a little bit, I decided to change the buttons to some brighter gold metal ones. It used to have antique brass buttons, which looked really good too, but I realized changing them would give the jacket a fresh new look. I think it worked and I really like it better now.
I thought my new Zara skinny-waxed white jeans that I bought recently for spring/summer would look perfect for this outfit. The jacket is black and has white piping all around the front, so combining it with white made perfect sense. Of course with a black and white palette you can add so many different types of tops, from solid bright colors to prints. I chose to go with my black and white stripe tee shirt and to add some color, I decided to wear my red sandals and finished off the look with our Jacket Society Chanel inspired necklace.
I thought that this necklace was perfect for this look, since it is black, white and gold. ย Initially my intention behind this outfit was to do a military inspired look, but by the time I was finished with it, I noticed it also has a nautical look, hence the title My Military Jacket With A Nautical Twist.
What do you think of my military/nautical look?

Nora I love this look. Utter classic perfection. I was recently gifted a white blazer from Chadwicks. I’m going to follow your wisdom and change out the buttons to more favorable ones.
